Akara technology is developed to relieve healthcare staff from repetitive, low-value tasks, helping them reduce burnout and operate more efficiently.
The Akara AI platform addresses a fundamental problem: hospitals have long lacked a clear, real-time understanding of what happens in their operating rooms. Existing data was manually collected—error-prone, incomplete, and time-consuming for staff. Even when collected, it often wasn’t accessible until weeks or months later, limiting its usefulness for driving timely improvements. Their platform automates this process, delivering accurate, actionable insights in real time, without adding to staff workload.
The Akara UV robot streamlines one of the most persistent inefficiencies in hospitals: room cleaning. In critical areas like operating rooms, cleaning often causes significant delays and extends room downtime. Manual methods are time-consuming, labor-intensive, and increasingly ineffective as pathogens adapt to traditional disinfectants. Existing UV systems offer only partial relief since they require staff to reposition devices manually, evacuate rooms, and still leave many surfaces unexposed. Akara’s autonomous robot reduces the number of staff needed, operates safely around people, and ensures more thorough disinfection, helping hospitals turn rooms over faster with less effort.
“We founded Akara to help hospitals facilities unlock greater efficiency in their operating rooms and clinical spaces through the use of AI-driven insights and robotic automation.” Conor McGinn, CEO.
