For the last two decades, Debbie has been at the forefront of technology investing in Ireland. Debbie has been partnering with and advising our portfolio companies, to ensure the right decisions and correct moves are made to ensure lasting success.

Some of Debbie’s current investments include AQ Metrics, GridBeyond, Provizio and Spectrum.Life.

Debbie is a graduate of Law from UCD and is a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland. Prior to a career in VC and Act, Debbie worked in corporate finance with KPMG specialising in fundraising and M&A.

Outside of the office, Debbie is an adventurous explorer and can be found climbing the mountains of Patagonia or cycling up the Atlas mountains in Morocco.

Prior to joining Act in 1996, John spent a number of years in various software engineering and business development roles with EDS (now HP).

John graduated from UCD with a degree in Physics & Mathematics, and has an MBA from Trinity College Dublin.

John is a former chairman of the IVCA and has been venture investing for over two decades in Ireland, Europe and the US. Some of John’s current live investments include Cubic Telecom, Ekco and Channelsight. John is a close partner with our founders along the journey and provides valuable insights to companies after 20 years of seed to growth investing.

Aside from the day job, John is an avid sailor and a Howth native, so is rarely found on land on the weekends.

Prior to Act, John held operating and business development roles in the software industry (Misys, Kindle Banking Systems and Kao Infosystems) for several years and also worked with Enterprise Ireland.

Markets, People, Technology and Capital are the basis for creating and scaling companies with great potential : John’s time is focused on working with founders and teams to get that balance right for their business and trying to anticipate when it needs to change.

S3 Group, Deciphex, and Plasmabound are some of John’s current investments.

John graduated from UCC with a degree in Commerce and has an ACCA Certified Diploma in Financial Management.

He is a former Advisory Board Member of Knowledge Transfer Ireland (2013-2017), an Advisory Board Member of Bio-innovate Ireland.

1985: Lycra, Oakley’s and titanium were an odd combination of items …. but then again so was…cycling. John is a former National and Regional medal winner, in Road Race, Team Time Trial and Hill Climbing (U12’s ….well, possibly not that long ago!). The lycra (slightly larger sizes), Oakley’s and titanium continues…But now it is ‘normal’. How things change.

Conor is responsible for sourcing new deals, due diligence, and monitoring and advising portfolio companies.

Prior to joining Act, Conor was a member of the corporate development team in Paddy Power Betfair, responsible for developing and executing the group’s expansions strategy and assessing all strategic M&A opportunities. Before joining Paddy Power Betfair, he worked in commercial banking and specialist corporate finance.

Some of Conor’s current investments include Drop, Instamotion, Cityswift and umba. He also works with a number of other Act companies.

Conor is a CFA charter holder and is a Business & Economics graduate from Trinity College Dublin.

Conor is currently a member of class 24 of the Kauffman Fellows, based in California.

Conor is an avid sports fan and was a keen rugby player until he was side-lined by multiple knee injuries. Now he is more likely to be seen testing his patience on the golf course.

Andrew is responsible for sourcing new deals, due diligence, and advising portfolio companies. Andrew also manages our platform and guides on strategy across the portfolio to support growth.

Andrew is a Kauffman Fellow (class 26), holds a BA in History & Politics from UCD, executive qualifications in Finance from Trinity Business School, and Venture Capital from the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business. Some of Andrew’s recent investments include Micron and Playter.

Prior to Act, he was a founder in the retail and martech industries.

In a previous life, Andrew enjoyed deep-sea fishing and diving while sailing around the world. Now he is more likely to be out on the bike, or working on his cooking skills.
